My question is now that elect Donald Trump will soon have sworn into Presidency in 2017. What is going to happen to many of the new immigrants illegally coming into the country? Who knows, but most of us are sitting on the side lines waiting to see what happens. I must wonder to myself when I see a new clinic in my community open and its predominately Mexican immigrant mothers and children whom are waiting to be seen with insurance consisting of a Medicaid card. Research studies indicate that illegal immigrants primarily benefit from Medicaid and food stamps from having children here in this country. Legal residents here in this country with very low education, limited job skills and a few more children than a normal household, are increasing the welfare rolls and need for more low-income housing. Is this fair to our citizens as we face a large homeless population in large cities throughout the country. Programs such as TANF (Temporary Assistance Needy Families) (Women Infant Children Program), WIC, SSI and SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program), these programs are costly to our government system and snapping up monies from taxpayers to pay for immigrant families while some of our neediest citizens, some veterans that fought hard and long for our government are living homeless and shelters and some on the streets.
Our country is so divided now even more than that past few years with this new presidency and the promises of a new America that means strongly strengthening our borders as being a priority on the list of things to do. I too want immigration laws enforced and border patrol tightened up some more. I know, that I may get some slack by those who oppose to my views in agreement with Donald Trump on some issues, but that’s fine. That’s what this platform is all about. I’m sorry, but “yes”, I would rather see an unemployed vet become hired based on servicing his/her country than seeing an illegal immigrant get hired because his boss believes in his ethics to come to work every day and on time. I too agree that the illegal worker who cuts my grass is more trustworthy than the average man whose job resume is very sketchy due history of incarceration or joblessness, so “yes”, he might have more of a chance of being hired and staying hired than his opponent. This is just a true testament that Donald Trumps plan to enforce and constraint and control illegal immigration may be easier said than done
I am hoping that he can keep some of his promises of bringing back jobs from overseas. That’s part of the Changing America slogan this country needs to see.
